Abstract:
Modern wound dressings are evolving toward multifunctional platforms capable of promoting healing, preventing infections, and providing patient comfort. In this study, electrospun nanofibers incorporating different carbon allotropes—graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs), carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and diamond nanoparticles—were deposited onto textile substrates to develop next-generation antibacterial bandages. This work represents an innovative approach to directly integrating active nanomaterials onto medicalgrade gauze via electrospinning, ensuring uniform coverage and potential functional benefits. The fabricated nanofibers were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), revealing successful deposition and structural integration of carbon nanomaterials into the polymer matrix. These functional coatings are currently under biological assessment for antibacterial performance. The methodology offers a scalable route toward high-performance wound care materials with embedded nanostructures tailored for infection prevention
